GRACE TO MAKE MARRIAGE CONFESSIONS

Scripture:

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:22-26.

Revelation:

When God saved our marriage and told us to stay together in our marriage, we decided to be obedient to God and we asked Him to make our marriage all that He intended when He established the first marriage. We learned what God initially intended for us. God’s initial intent for marriage is for us to be in agreement, be of the same mind, not be divided, and be one flesh.

God showed us that according to Mark 11:24, we could believe His word and confess the promises in His word to change our marriage. We learned that the power of life and death is in our tongues, we can have what we say, and we can call things that be not as though they were if we only believed. We believed confession brings possession and began to confess over our marriage the scriptures that God showed us. We looked up, read, and summarized the scriptures, then we created the Marriage Confessions (on the next page) for our marriage and used it as a reminder to say what God says about our marriage in spite of what we were experiencing during disagreements and tough times.

Prayer:

Gracious Heavenly Father, we thank You for helping us to say what You say about our marriage. According to Mark 11:24, we believe that confession brings possession, and we now confess over our marriage that: we are in agreement, we are of the same mind, our house is not divided, and we are one flesh. We are joined together by God in an honourable marriage with an undefiled bed. We are heirs together of the grace of life. In the Name of Jesus! Amen.

Action:

·       Look up, read, and summarize scriptures for your marriage. Create confessions for your marriage and say the confessions together. As an example, make the confessions on the previous page. Agree together as you pray these promises and/or agree with the Holy Spirit.

·       Remember, there is strength in numbers so the two of you can combine your faith and put 10,000 to flight!

·       Also, remember Matthew 18:19-20 says that if two of you shall agree on earth, it shall be done by our Father which is in heaven. It is also even more powerful when the two of you agree with the Holy Spirit since a threefold cord is not easily broken!
